Have you lost a friend, companion that one special being that knows your every secret. We at GDALI would be honored to place a picture of your Great Dane with the rest of those that have left this physical world, always to be remembered in our hearts.

Don't grieve too long, for now I'm free.
I've followed the path God has set for me.
I ran to Him when I heard His Call.
I swished my tail and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To bark, to love, to romp or play.
Games left unplanned must stay that way.
I found such peace, it made my day.

My parting has left you with a void.
Please fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss.
Oh yes, these things I too shall miss.

"Don't Grieve Too Long"

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life has been full, you've given so much, Your time, your love and gentle touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your head and share with me,
God wanted me, He set me free!

Ms. Abbey Thunderpaws

Everyone at GDALI was saddened to hear of Abbey going on to what lies beyond. You may remember we tracked Abbey's growth when she was just a pup on our web site. We learned a great deal on how Great Danes grow their first year.

Then later when Abbey was diagnosed with Wobblers, we learned how she came through the surgery and beat the odds. Abbey was a fighter and showed a great deal of courage up until the end at the early age of five. She helped her Mom deal with Breast Cancer and was everything a Great Dane is known for.

To Marj and Jeff we send our sympathies. We thank you for all the care, dedication and love you gave to Abbey. Ms. Thunderpaws was unique and a beautiful representative of the Great Dane Breed.

Tinkerbell was just a sweetheart of a Dane. She was going to be adopted by a wonderful family in Utah. Just days prior to the adoption Tinkerbell bloated. She was rushed to emergency and surgery was performed. Only a couple hours had passed as her bloat was diagnosed immediately by her foster Mommy.

Tinkerbell fought very hard. She underwent two surgeries to save her. In the end she could not recover from the bloat. Sadly she left this world. We were all hit very hard by this. Her foster Mom did so much for Tinkerbell and left no stone un-turned to try and save her. We also are saddend for the family that was to adopt her.

Tinkerbell

I has been a very difficult December of 2008. The GDALI family has lost several Dane family members.

We had to say goodbye to Riley as he secumed to a very hard seisure. Riley had suffered from seizures for quite some time. But Art had them under control. Finally the one seizure came and took Riley.

Riley was the gentlest of Danes. He was always happy to see you and made a point of saying hello.

Art has just taken over as President of GDALI and this was a hard blow for him. Everyone at GDALI stands with Art and shares in his loss.

My Girl Peanut…

She loved putting her head on my shoulders and she loved being with the family.
She really didn’t like her picture taken, as you can see.
I will miss Peanut deeply and I have been truly blessed to have had the chance to be loved by her.

Thank You GDALI for bringing her to me.
She became my best friend and will forever be my best friend.
Rest in Peace ‘ol girl. Momma loves you…
