Sweet Pea was with us all to short a time. Her little body racked with H.O.D. She fought as hard as she could but in the end she had to leave us.
Sweet Pea was names so well. She was just the cutest little Sweet Pea Everyone at GDALI and everyone she met was touched by this little one. She left this world in the arms of her foster Mom and Dad who adopted her at the hospital before she left.
We know that there were many Danes to meet her on the other side of the Bridge. We know she is running free and out of pain. Thank You Sweet Pea for coming into our lives.

Popeye
Popeye was one of those very special dogs. When he came to GDALI, is was very clear he had been beaten severely. Both his front legs had been broken. His left eye socket had been broken. All occurring around a year before we got him in. What was worse was he was Heartworm positive.
Popeye on his own had learned how to walk on his back legs so his front legs would heal. While they looked crooked, he was able to get around. He endured the treatment for Heartworm. All with a wonderful attitude and still he loved people.
Then Eve came into his life. Eve adopted Popeye and he has a wonderful home for the next two years. Sadly Popeye crossed the bridge on 10/24/2006. Popeye will never be forgotten and his strength, attitude and love of people made him a true ambadassor of Great Danes.
Isis
Isis was a sweet Dane. When she went to meet her possible new family, she made herself right at home. It was her way of showing us that she really liked Chancellor family. Isis's happiest day was when the Chancellor's adopted Isis. She was a happy and well cared for Dane ever since.
Sadly on 11/20/2006 Isis Crossed The Bridge. She has been struggling with medical issues and the time had come. We want to thank the Chancellor family for taking such good care of Isis and being there with her when she left us. We will miss you Isis.
Kaylee
Another sweet and loveable Dane left us on 02/26/2007. Kaylee was the pampered, spoiled, loved and constant companion of Jo.
Jo was with Kaylee when she Crossed the Bridge. Kaylee brought a great deal of joy into Jo's life. Jo gave Kaylee a wonderful home and Kaylee never wanted for anything.
Our thoughts are with you Jo and we will miss seeing Kaylee.
On April 17, 2007 the Dane world got a little smaller with the passing of Otis. He was the constant companion of one of our volunteers, Allison Johnson. Allison opened up her home to adopt Otis on April 28, 2001.
Otis then opened up his heart to Scott who married Allison and their family was very happy. They all moved to Oregon where they have lived for the past few years. Otis watched over Allison and Scott and they watched over Otis.
Sadly Otis was diagnosed with Ostosarcoma recently. He fought everyway he could, but finally with his family with him, the Cancer took him.

Mina
I got to pick Mina out of a litter of 3 week old Dane Puppies. One of the most exciting moments in my life! I remember sitting in the den with all the puppies, and Mina was the first one to approach me. From that moment on she was mine, or rather, I was hers. I could look at her across the room and get her riled up.
We enjoyed all our little games together, and even more all the cuddling. We had also adopted one of her sisters and had the best 8 years! Mina passed one week before her 8th birthday - the single hardest day of my life. She bloated on us, and in the circumstances of being old, and having some significant health issues, we felt best to let her go. Mina - I will never forget you - you were my best friend! Love Mom, Papa and Sister Elsa.
Akella
We say a sad farewell to Akella. Akella Crossed the Bridge on September 15, 2007. Akella was adopted by Kurt and Leslie Streebe. She had a number of small tumor issues for almost the whole time that Kurt and Leslie had her. Each time the did what was needed to keep Akella happy and healthy. A kella was a sweet and loving Dane. She had a wonderful life with Kurt and Leslie and we thank them for taking such good care of Akella. She will be missed.
Tess
Tess was rescued by the Carroll family. She had been severly abused and neglected. Then with the Carroll family she began to learn was love was about. Stacie, Geno Steph took such good care of Tess. While Tess never completely recovered from her abuse, she did learn that people were nice and that her family loved her very much.
Tess had a great life with the Carrolls. Everyone at GDALI is saddened and we share the grief with the Carroll family. Stacie, Geno and Steph are volunteers with GDALI and we all know Tess. She will never be forgotten. Tess parted from us to be with her Brother K2 on 10/03/2007.
Maximus
Max was the constant companion to Stan. They would be seen together everywhere. Their favorite place was a near by Starbuck. Max and Stan were Volunteers with GDALI. You could meet Max a many of our events. Max had a wonderul, very impressive bark and would call out to folks to come by. Max loved people. Well Max loved everybody and everything.
When Stan rescued Max, his life was never better. Sadly on 12/50/2007 Max left us in the arms of Stan. Max lost his battle with Ostosarcoma. We shall all miss Max.
Beauty
Beauty was very well named. She was a beauty both inside and out. Beauty was adopted by Suzanne on 09/19/2003. Beauty had a great life with Suzanne and her Dane brother Snoop. Beauty was their for Suzanne when Snoop crossed the bridge. Now Beauty is with Snoop again.
Beauty left us on 01/01/2008 in the arms of Suzanne. Thank you Suzanne for adopting Beauty and giving her such a warm, cared for, and loved life.
Reise
Reise was one of GDALI Senior representatives. She enjoyed going to Senior homes and spending time. Reise was every bit, The Lady. The was Isa's mentor and the love of Vicki and Rick. Reise was another of the wonderful GDALI Representatives as she and her Mom and Dad were volunteers.
Reise was a perfect example of what a Great Dane is. The love she showed. The silliness she brought and regalness she displayed will be missed.
On 01/06/2008 Reise left us in the arms of Vicki and Rick. Like others on this page, she lost her battle with Ostosarcoma.
