Bullwinkle

Bullwinkle was our January 2003 Dane Of The Month. There you learned how the Sheppards adopted Bulwinkle with wobblers, arthritis, thickening of the joints digestive problems and Cancer.

Alan and Tina took such good care of Bullwinkle. Keeping him out of pain, happy and giving him a Danes life for five years.

Sadly the Cancer came back with a vengence. On June 6, 2006 Tina and Alan did the last and most loving thing they could, they held him and sent him Cross The Bridge.

Xena

Xena life was a hard one until the day she was rescued by Colorado Great Dane Rescue. Her, her Daughter Echo and Son Dutch were rescued. Xena found a loving family in Donna and Justin and lived a wonderful life with them. Sadly Xena left us in June of 2006. She went quitely and softly in her sleep.

Jake

Jake came into our organization in September of 2003.  On October 17, 2003 Jakes one and only wish came true when Audria adopted him.

Since that time Jake has been Audria's constant buddy and friend to Karen, Audria Sister. He has been part of the family and very loved and cared for.

On April 8, 2006 Jake left this world to join those that have gone before him. To Audria and Karen, we share your loss. We thank you for giving Jake such a wonderful home. He will always be in our hearts.

Keirnan

When Keirnan first met Scott you could tell this was going to be a life long match. Keirnan, who Scott later renamed Magnus, made himself right at home. You could tell he felt comfortable with Scott.

It is always difficult to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Keirnan was Scott's companion and buddy. They played together. Walked in the park together and were best friends.

We say goodbye to Keirnan with heartfelt sadness. We extended our sympathies to Scott. But mostly we thank Scott for giving Keirnan such a wonderful and loving home. Keirnan crossed the bridge on 07/26/2005

Mr. Whatson

I wish someone had given Jesus a dog as loyal as mine.

To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes and adore Him for being Divine.

Well the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him ours, the old pal so dear to us.

And I smile through my tears on this
first day alone knowing they re in eternity together.

Cameo

Cameo came into our organization in December 2002. She was an owner turn in. Then in May 2003 Cameo was adopted by Kate. Cameo found herself her forever home. Kate gave Cameo a wonderful life and Cameo was pampered and loved.

Sadly Cameo has Crossed The Bridge on February 20, 2005. She was with Kate and went easily. We exent our sympathies to Kate and share in her sadness. Cameo will always be with in our memories. Thank You Kate for giving Cameo such a wonderful home.

Stormy

Stormy was the constant companion of Cheryl. He made her laugh. He made her cry. But Stormy and Cheryl were buddies. Stormy was diagnosed with Dilative Cardiomyopathy. Cheryl did everything humanly possible to give Stormy a wonderful quality of life. The Vets gave Stormy on a few months to live. Cheryl turned those few months into a couple years.

On January 20, 2005 Stormy lost his battle with this disease. In very peacful fashion, while curled up and sleeping at Cheryls feet, Stormy crossed the bridge. We extend our sympathies to Cheryl and thank her for the unselfish work she did to give Stormy the best possible life for as long as he had.

Deva

Deva was another of our older rescued Danes that found happiness in a new home. Deva was adopted by the Kearns family on May 7, 2004. She had lots of room to run and play. She horses to watch for, three other doggies to play.

Sadly on December 31, 2004 Deva Crossed the Bridge with her family at her side. Deva was very much loved. We thank the Kearns family for adopting Deva and for everything they did for Deva.

Dutch

Dutch was the faitful companion of Jennifer Himes, a Dog Trainer. Dutch was a very well trained Dane and helped train other dogs. He was you typical Dane. Loving, full of fun, happy to see you and most of all was a wonderful ambadassor for the Great Dane Breed.

Dutch will be missed by his Mom but we know that his spirit will always be there. Dutch Crossed The Bridge on August 4, 2004.

Adeline

Adeline was one of the Senior Danes that came into our organization. Many times it is hard to find a home for an older Dane. But Tracy embraced Adeline and adopted her on February 13, 2004 because of her age.

Tracy gave Addy a wonderful home full of love, medical care and attention. Tracy even took Addy to work with her on occasion. We sadden to say that Adeline passed quiely to what lies beyond on July 6, 2004. We share in Tracy's loss and thank her for giving Addy such a great home.

Jake

I remember the night I brought Jake home.   He seemed kind of lost; not knowing where his bed was and not letting me get any sleep.   I tried everything, blankets on the floor, sleeping on the floor with him, I finally deciding the floor was too hard and blew up an air mattress for him.   This worked, as long as I slept with him.   So, I did.

That was the beginning of MY training.   Jake didn’t need training, but he knew how to train me.

That was 4 years ago.   Today, as I sit here, alone and with tears in my eyes, I think about the times we had.   Even with the loss and sorrow I feel now, I wouldn’t have traded one single moment.

                                                                                                       I love you puppy.
